SHRI SHAILESH TIWARI DIRECTOR

An energy professional with over 3 decades of experience in the Oil & Gas sector, Mr. Shailesh Tiwari is a distinguished Mechanical Engineer from NIT Raipur with an M. Tech from IIT Kanpur and an MBA from IIM Lucknow. He has an impressive track record in Project Management & Construction, Operations, Maintenance of IndianOil's extensive network of Oil and Gas pipelines. As Executive Director (In-charge), Pipelines, IndianOil since 30 th June 2025, he brings forth a wealth of experience, having held leadership roles across Pipelines business of IndianOil. Earlier, he headed two Regions of Pipelines Division – Northern Region Pipelines (NRPL) and Southern Region Pipelines (SRPL) besides holding Senior Management roles in Human Resources function of the corporate level.

AREA OF SPECIALIZATION:

  • Operations & Maintenance of Oil & Gas Pipelines: In-depth experience in managing large-scale operations and capital-intensive projects in the Oil &Gas sector, with proven leadership in pipeline infrastructure development and regional supply chain optimization.
  • Led NRPL and SRPL as Executive Director: As Executive Director, led Southern and Northern Region Pipelines (SRPL & NRPL), driving transformative improvements that elevated both Regions to high-performance status. His leadership set new benchmarks in operational efficiency, safety standards, and project execution within the pipeline industry.
  • Human Resource Strategy & Development: Expertise in Strategic HR functions including Human Resource Development (HRD) and Learning & Development (L&D), with a strong focus on institutional capacity building and talent transformation.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Led large-scale pipeline operations and projects worth over ₹10,000 crore across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan and Delhi including product pipelines, gas infrastructure, and City Gas Distribution (CGD) in 5 GA’s consisting 11 districts of Tamil Nadu and in 2 GA’s consisting 5 districts in Jammu and 1 district in Punjab.
  • Operations & Maintenance of NRPL is unique that it is entrusted with the transportation of crude oil, petroleum products, natural gas, and LPG — making it the only region to handle the full spectrum of pipeline operations. In fact, NRPL handles an impressive 27% of Pipelines Division’s throughput of petroleum products.
  • Championed key strategic HR initiatives such as the Leadership Competency Model, Technical Competency Framework, and the largest state-of-the-art e-learning platform in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Steered Skill Development initiatives in the energy sector; contributed to the establishment of Skill Development Institutes under MoP&NG at Bhubaneswar.
     

BOARD POSITIONS:

In addition to his role as Executive Director (In-charge), Pipelines, IndianOil, Mr. Shailesh Tiwari served on the Board of the following Joint Venture Companies:

  • IndianOil LNG Private Limited (IOLPL): A Joint Venture company of IndianOil, which operates LNG receipt, storage and regasification Terminal at Ennore (Chennai). He served on its Board for two years from 2022 to 2024. 
  • IHB limited: A Joint Venture Company of 3 leading Oil & Gas Central Public Sector Undertakings namely IOCL, HPCL and BPCL. He is serving the IHB Board as nominee Director and Chairman w.e.f. 01.07.2025.
